Just a Couple of Cards

I found these two digi stamps today on and fell in love. They’re from the Toby Tumble range and are so cute I just had to use them right away.
Here are the two cards I made
Cute, cute, cute!
The DP on the first card is by Echo Park who I have just recently discovered and I have just used some Bazzill Bling (sparkle) and some white glitter card on the second card.
No challenges for these cards, I just wanted to show off the stamps hehe

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little…. Flowers?

I had a of a rummage through my embellishment drawers last night and found some lovely flowers which I can’t even recall buying! So I decided to liberate them from the drawer and use them on a couple of cards.

This is card number one
Sorry it’s a little dark, I turned the flash off because the cardstock is a pain in the behind to photograph (with my camera anyway!)
I have used
DP: White linen cardstock from eBay and Bazzill bling Glitz
Image: Brotherly Love Edwin rubber stamp by Magnolia
Colourwork: Copics for skin, Promarkers for the rest
Embellishments: Trimmits beaded flower, Prima flowers and Petaloo glitter flower. White ribbon from stash. 1mm pearls

This is card number two

I just love the Papermania Elegance paper pad. It’s so Christmassey in a non traditional way and it coordinates nicely with the golden flower.

I have used
DP: Papermania Elegance, Bazzill Coal
Image: Tilda Wants a Hug by Magnolia rubber stamps
Colourwork: Copics for skin and hair, Promarkers for dress and socks and sakura star dust pen for dress
Embellishments: Trimmits beaded flower, stickles, black grosgrain ribbon

Just a Splash of Colour

I love damask patterns, if I had it may way, my entire house would be a damask lovers nirvana but DH would probably move out hehe. Instead, I’m covering my cards in damask instead!
This one is another black and white creation, but this time with a splash of colour. Black and white damask is so elegant IMO. I don’t have a burgundy pen (tsk tsk) so I coloured the dress and wings in a plum colour first and then coloured over it with a ruby red coloured pen. That’s what I love about alcohol markers, you can always make whatever colour you need! The rest of my colouring is quite subtle because I really wanted the burgundy colour to stand out.
This is a very simple, unfussy card and I made it using:
DP: Digi paper by Cupcake Cutiees on MyGrafico, Coal and Winter White Bazzill cardstock
Image: God’s Little Angel digi stamp by Karen’s Doodles
Colourwork: Copics (skin and hair), Promarkers (dress, wings, harp, cloud and hair band), Sakura stardust pen (wings, cloud, harp strings)
Embellishments/Stash: Burgundy grosgrain ribbon, gems
Sentiment: Copperplate Gothic font on Word

Purple Haze

I made this card last night and must have been in a bit of a Hendrix mood or something because I rarely use purple on my cards for some reason, but I have accumulated quite a stash of purple papers.

This is my card

I’m not too happy with the toadstool, I think I should have used a different perhaps whiter, coloured stickles but hey ho, it’s still very sparkly which is what I was hoping for.

I have used
Papers: DCWV latte, Daisy & Dandelion
Images: Digi Stamp by Sugar Nellie called Boy & Girl Fairy downloaded from funkykits and Butterfly stamp by Royal Langknikel
Colourwork: Promarkers, Copics, Sakura stardust pens and platinum stickles
Embellishments/Stash items: Star beads, mulberry paper flowers, metallic cord, gems
Sentiment – Font “A Yummy Apology”

This digi stamp was probably my find of the week, I can see myself using it on so many different cards and it was a joy to colour.

The nicest thing you’ve ever made…

That’s what my husband said about this project which I’m calling a gift card because it is! Now, I’m not too sure I’d agree with him that it’s the nicest thing I’ve ever made, but I’m happy with how it turned out!
I’m going to be making a few of these for our neighbour’s Christmas cards instead of the usual bottle of wine or box of chocolates so I hope they like them – and don’t stumble across my blog cos that would totally ruin the surprise! 🙂
I apologise advance about the pics because I took most of the in one room under a lamp, some came out blurry when I uploaded them and so I cheated and re-took them on my craft table with a sheet of Bazzill underneath hehe giving away trade secrets here!
The box is big enough for 4 tea-lights. I’ve only got scented ones at the moment and one of the neighbours can’t have scented candles for health reasons so I didn’t want to contaminate the gift. I’ll upload another picture after I’ve popped out for unscented tea-lights tomorrow 🙂 (Any excuse to go shopping eh!)
I have used

  • Coal Bazzill Cardstock
  • Damasks digi paper by Cupcake Cutiees on
  • Christmas Tree digi stamp by Lil Ellaboudy also o
  • Nellie Snellen Dies (circle and square ornate frames)
  • Stickles, stardust pens, sequins, pearls and gems
  • Black polka dot ribbon
  • Acetate
  • Sentiment stamp is by Magnolia

…and a fun time was had by all…

I think this picture of Meadow just about sums us all up in my house at the moment! Unexpected visitors + work + late nights = lots of tiring fun! Im not complaining though and I always go back to my craft table feeling a bit more creative when i've had a few days away from it.

Until tomorrow, craft table. Tonight, it's an early night for me!
