Heat-gun Frenzy!

I’ll admit it, I got a little bit happy with the heat gun whilst making this card but I think it turned out pretty well!

rose damask card

I have used two new stamps on this card. Firstly the “build a rose” stamp by papermania and secondly the Prima Marketing baroque leaves stamp. All of which I have heat embossed with some burgundy embossing powder which I purchased from an eBay retailer called Purple Gerbil  – £1.99 for 15oz of the stuff which is a bargain in my opinion!

I’ve mounted the rose onto a paper doily and used some burgundy satin ribbon from stash and gems, also from stash complete the card

Non Traditional Christmas Colours

I’m so fed up of the snow now! Just when I thought it was safe to go outside without fear of doing an impression of superman, more snow arrived today! BOOOO!!! I would like a nice heat wave for Christmas please Santa Clause if you’re reading. I’m sure I’ve been good all year…

Anyway, to match the frosty weather, I’ve used some Echo Park Blizzard DPs to pretty up some Kraft card stock to make this card

Silver snowflake card

The lovely silver ribbon on the card is actually a broken Christmas tree decoration which I’ve recycled. I bought a load of wired organza bows to go on my Christmas tree a few years ago and the one on the card had become unravelled. Probably in my haste to take the tree down as by New Years, I’m sick of the blessed thing hehe.

The silver mirrored snowflake is by Papermania and the gems are from stash. I used some cookie cutter dies to mount the snowflake and finish off the card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Papertake Weekly – Red and Green must not be seen

Simon Says Stamp – Christmas but no red or green

Finger’s crossed the snow melts away soon, but I guess if there was no snow, there’d be no pretty snowflakes.

Trio of Cards

Die Cut Dreams Challenge blog have a fab card trio challenge up this week. I don’t know why I’ve never made a card set before cos it was so much fun!

Trio of Cards

These are my cards. I’ve used some white and purple pizzazz bazzill cardstock, I overstamped half of the cards with some lace stamps by recollection stamps, embossed with black embossing powder.

The flowers on the card is by petaloo. The card is finished off with some black ribbon from stash. So now I have three any occasion cards .

Getting a Head Start

I have 7 birthday cards to make for January and so far, I’ve only made two! This is the second card, for my cousin in-law.

I have teamed up Kraft cardstock with the Smirk for Her paper pack again as they match so well. This is a shaker card

Bethany's Card

I’ve used elements from two coordinating sheets of paper from the Smirk pack and layered them up on the Kraft cardstock. The card size is 5 x 5.

For the shaker part of the card, I’ve just used foam tape, acetate and pastel coloured sequins for a bit of bling.

Only another 5 to go!

Turquoise Oriental

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (and again no doubt!) I love all things oriental. So when I walked into the craft shop today and saw the new Papermania Oriental Treasure paper pack, I had to have it – and some stamps too! This is the first card I’ve made since my injury and it took me ages but thankfully, I’m on the mend and my craft table hasn’t wandered off in disgust at my neglect hehe.

TQ upright

I have used a 5×5 card blank and covered it with the pretty textured DCWV Eastern Promise paper, inking up the edges with a petrol coloured promarker. The magnolia image is Chinese Tilda and I’ve coloured her in with promarkers and used a versamark embossing pen to add the Papermania Enchanted Gold embossing powder to the parasol and parts of Tilda’s kimono and sandals.

TQ Close Up 2

The cherry blossom on the kimono is coloured with sakura souffle pens and stickles. I used more of the same embossing powder onto the turquoise paper in the Oriental Treasure paper pack and stamped the lanterns which are by Inkadinkado ( Asian Characters stamp pack) and the flower at the bottom is made up of 3 layers of embossed vellum, stamped with an Oriental treasures stamp and I’ve added stickles over the brad in the centre of the flower. More stickles at the stop of the card and that’s it!

TQ cloae Up 1

I am entering this into Just Us Girl’s sketch challenge and Daring Cardmakers Turquoise Birthstone challenge.

This week, DCM are sponsored by Flourish With a Bling, an Australian company who also ship to the UK so I’ll definitely be perusing the website!

Craftie-Charlie Blog Candy

I do probably 90% of my craft shopping online and the place I get the vast majority of my crafting goodies from is craftie-charlie so when I saw a blog candy post on their blog, did I get excited? I did indeed!! 🙂

Hop over to the blog post to see the fab candy on offer for yourself (in the spirit of Christmas I have decided to share the link with you all, even though to do so will lessen my chances of winning – just kidding! hehe)

Isn’t that fabulous!!! If I don’t win, I’m so ordering that stamp set!

Apart from said stamp set, I haven’t asked for anything crafty for Christmas. I have a wonderful hubby who indulges my love of all things paper craft throughout the year and I have been keeping my craft table nicely stocked with pretty things so I have asked for indulgent, pampering products to spoil myself with.

Fingers crossed until 8 December (exactly a month before my 32nd birthday, sure that’s a sign?!?!? hehe)

p.s My Quick Cards Made Easy Mag just popped through the door and Craftie Charlie are mentioned as a stockist in the supplement
