70s Style

Happy Saturday everyone!

Nearly every card I’ve made this week has featured one paper or another from the Papermania Birdsong paper pack. I LOVE it! This card is no exception.

LSS Just a Note A

I was asked to make a sample with the LSS Posh n Trendy Digi stamp set from Lindasy’s Stamp Stuff (LSS) available from and this is what I came up with. I also have another card rumbling around my brain which I’ll make later on.

I used two papers from the Birdsong pack. The brown leaves remind me of a 70s office so I think it works well with the typewriter image. A freebie pack of sentiments come with the stamps but I used the Mom’s Typewriter font to make mine. I coloured the image with promarkers and then heat embossed the typewriter part in clear embossing powder for a nice shine. I used two nellie snellen dies to cut the scalloped circles and the smaller circle which the image is mounted on and set them all on 3mm foam pads for a bit of dimension. The black ribbon and metallic cord are from stash. I adhered some of the brown leaf pattern onto some black cardstock, punched out a circle and then used a button hole die to turn it into a matching button.

LSS Just a Note B

For the inside I printed a smaller typewriter onto the DP (that’s what I love about digi stamps, you can have them any size you want!) and went over the image with a sakura quickie glue pen and then heat embossed the image in black embossing powder. Again the “have a great day) is in the Mom’s Typewriter font and I die cut the sentiment from plain white cardstock.

LSS Just a Note C

So, that’s my sample! I hope she’s pleased with it.

A Nap

I’m building up my stock of any occasion cards because there’s nothing quite like getting something through the post so I’m going to try and send more this year to family and friends.

Here’s one of them that I made today

Dilek Pandas - A Nap A

and here’s what I used

  • One of the stamps from the Dilek  Cute Panda Digi Stamp available from
  • Black cardstock from my local craft shop
  • Orange DP is from the Birdsong paper pack by Papermania
  • Colourwork  – Promarkers
  • I chalked the background for the image and sentiment with papermania Glimmer Chalks
  • Sentiment is work generated
  • I made the fringe flower with some of the black cardstock from the base and the same orange DP. I chalked the fringe with yellow and a touch of red glimmer chalk
  • Orange rhinestone from stash.
  • Black ribbon from stash

First Ever ATCs

I love the idea of Artist Trading Cards but felt a bit intimidated by them because the ones I’ve seen are so gorgeous. In the spirit of trying something new, I thought I’d have a go! Tainted Sweets Baking Love ATCs Lisa Sumpter

And here they are! I really enjoyed making these and I hope whoever receives them in my local swap likes them too!

The image and sentiment are from the Baking Love set by Tainted Sweets on which the MG DT were asked to make samples for and as soon as I saw them, I knew that I wanted to use a harlequin background but I didn’t have one or any harlequin DP. So I made one using photoshop and printed it off. I coloured my images with promarkers and highlighted the red with a sakura star dust pen. The ribbon is from stash.

This made my day!

Pencil Crayon Fun

When I first discovered character stamps and that you could colour them in I picked up a pack of pencil crayons from Sainsburys with my shopping and sat at my DH’s computer desk and coloured in. This was way before I had my craft table but it was so therapeutic and I was hooked!  I then bought some watercolour pencils and then graduated to promarkers and copics BUT it was so nice today to just sit with my pencil crayons and colour again.

Why am I going on about this? Because crafty cardmakers have a Spotlight on Pencils challenge this week so I have made a card to suit it, using one of my favourite images to colour, the Angel with Puppy digital stamp by Mo Manning of Mo’s Digital Pencil.

Here’s my card pictured with the 6 (yes, only 6) pencil crayons that I used to colour my image.

The DP is by Prima Marketing (Annalee), doily, ribbon, flowers and pearls are from stash.

I’m definitely going to get my pencil tin out more often because I love how this turned out! (even if I do say so myself!)
