Christmas Cards

The other week I bought another Gorjuss stamp called Guardian Angel but hadn’t got round to using it until yesterday. I made these two cards. They are variations on a theme but different enough to keep it interesting for me. I get a bit bored of making more than one of the same card so my Christmas cards are becoming a bit of a chore hehe

Santa Clause is Coming to Town

This is my entry into the Allsorts Challenge. The theme is Inspriration from a Song and as one of the Magnolia Fall Stamp Club stamps which came this morning Edwin dressed as Santa with a Christmas list, my chosen song is Santa Clause is Coming to Town (He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice…)

Just a short post as my favourite film is on in a sec! hehe

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge Think Pink

Up with the larks this morning as Meadow (my dog) likes to get out of bed early EVERY day and jump onto mine so I’ve had a bit of time to make some cards – and it’s only 9.40 a.m!

This is my entry into the I ♥ Promarkers Craft Challenge. The theme this week is “Think Pink” which is fab for me since pink is very high on my favourite colour list

Sketch Saturday Challenge Entry

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!

This is my entry into the Sketch Saturday Challenge for this week. I love the Gorjuss decoupage kits and recently discovered the stamps which are produced by Sugar Nellie. This is one of them called “Emo Girl Sitting”. On the stamp she has a skull and cross bones clip in her hair but I can never get it to stamp properly. On the plus side, it means that this stamp is a bit more versatile without it.

Ingredients list

close up

  • 4.5 in x 4.5in white linen card blank
  • DPs from the My Mind’s Eye Wild Asparagus paper stack.
  • True Love tag is by Papermania
  • Gorjuss Emo Girl Stamp coloured with Promarkers and Watercolour brush markers
  • Scalloped Circle Cookie Cutter die ran through my Big Shot
  • Flowers and sequins from stash

Crafty Creations Challenge – Owls

I’ve always found something a bit creepy about owls and with all of the autumnal challenges at the moment, I’m having to face my fears a bit. I think it’s their eyes and the fact that they can swivel their heads – too much like the exorcist for me! hehe

Anyway, on to the challenge… This is my entry into the Crafty Creations Challenge. I bought some peel offs a few weeks ago as they had some really lovely swirls and flowers and they also had some owls on the sheet so it was a good excuse to get rid of, I mean, put to good use the owls hehe.

Ingredients

  • DP from the Eastern Promise and Funky Vintage paper stacks
  • Peels offs from my local craft shop
  • Cookie Cutter Scalloped Circles which I ran through my big shot
  • glimmer chalks.

C.R.A.F.T.Challenge – Fancy Floral

The nice postman who always arrives mega early when I’ve ordered presents delivered the incredibly gorgeous DCWV Latte paper stack this morning, just in time for the C.R.A.F.T Challenge which this week is Fancy Floral which suits these papers down to the ground! I’ve bought a few DCWV paper stack lately and they’re pretty much at the top of my favourite craft companies at the moment.

I’d printed off the art deco lady last night, ready to do something with today but I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with her but these papers screamed to be used so I coloured her in using promarkers and water colour brush markers finished off with glimmer chalks for a nice subtle sparkle

Ingredients
  • DCWV Ornate Floral and Textured Purple papers
  • Art Deco Lady by Sarah Lake on Craftsuprint
  • 5” white linen card blank
  • Moss green grosgrain ribbon
  • Promarkers
  • Papermania watercolour brush markers
  • Papermania shimmer chalks

MyGrafico Challenge No. 68

Prepare to be scared. Tremble in fear as this week’s challenge is all about that time of year when ghouls and ghosts, witches and warlocks and monsters and mummies come out to play.
This week’s challenge theme is Halloween (muahahahahaha…) and to join in, you will need to make Anything BUT a Card.
Pop over to the Challenge Blog to take a look at the rest of the design team’s wonderful creations made using the Little Witch digi stamp by Clip Art and Scrap and digi papers by Goodness & Fun ; Halloween Cuties. The DT have made projects from digital layouts, treat bags and a poison apple bowl!
I have made a reversible door hanger. At the start of the night, you hang it this way so the little gremlins who appear on your doorstep know to knock
And at the end of the night, when you’ve ran out of sweet treats, you simply flip it over so that the monsters know that their knock will not be rewarded
Prizes and rules are over on the main Challenge Blog. Hope to see your frightfully good creations throughout the week!

I’m ba-ack!

Got back today from a mini break to Blackpool with DH, Meadow and the in-laws. Last year we got blown about by the gale force winds and lashing rain but this time, we had some nice weather with just a few showers. We did a heck of a lot of walking, lots of eating (to replace the calories we lost while walking…) and a bit of shopping. A fun time was had by all.

Owl Be Seeing You

It’s Wednesday again and time for another MyGrafico craft challenge – hurrah!

This week’s theme is paper piecing. It was a bit of a challenge for me as I’ve never done any paper piecing before but managed to create an R.S.V.P card just so I can use a sentiment/pun saying “Owl be seeing you” hehe. Yes, I know, I’m a bit sad… 🙂

This is what we go to work with this week and is the prize you can win.

Dotted Daisy Dotted Line Papers

and

Cocoa Studios Mod Owls Clip Arts

That’s a fabulous $8 worth of prizes!

Paper Piecing Card

I decided to funk-up the Owl a little bit by making the “feathers” out of the pink and green dotted papers and then added an extra dimension to the card by layering up the owl’s face.

Challenge conditions

  • Follow the theme by using any amount of paper piecing on your new project
  • You don’t have to use MyGrafico products but you get two entries in the draw if you do
  • Add the link to your blog post to inlinkz and cross your fingers that you get to win the fantastic set we got to work with this week

Have Fun!
